Polad Bulbuloglu participates in 'Cultural Wealth of People' project in Ganja [PHOTOS]
A concert dedicated to one of the founders of the national musical theater and professional vocal art, opera singer, laureate of State awards and orders, and People's Artist of the USSR Bulbul (Murtuza Mammadov, 1897-1961), has been held as part of the project "Cultural Wealth of the People" (Xalqın mədəni sərvəti), organized by the Ganja State Philharmonic Hall, Azernews reports.
The concert program featured performances by students of the Bulbul Vocal School, who performed works from the opera "Koroglu" and the operetta "Arshin Mal Alan" by Uzeyir Hajibayli, romances "My Homeland" and "Wait for Me" by Suleyman Alasgarov, and "My Country" by Asaf Zeynalli.
They also presented pieces from the operas "The Marriage of Figaro" by Mozart, "Nargiz" by Muslim Magomayev, Azerbaijani folk songs "Flowers in the Garden" and "I Do Not Expect Your Love," as well as Italian compositions.
Bulbul's son, the Chairman of the Culture Committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament, People's Artist Polad Bulbuloglu, expressed his gratitude for the organization of the evening and to the participants for their wonderful performances.
The main goal of the "Cultural Wealth of the People" project is to promote classic examples of Azerbaijani musical art and to engage in educational activities aimed at bringing folk music to a wide audience and contemporary youth.
As part of the project, a series of events is dedicated to prominent figures in culture and art. Previously, evenings honoring classical national music composers such as Fikrat Amirov, Gara Garayev, Suleyman Alasgarov, Jabbar Garyagdioglu and Seyid Shushinski were held.
