Ganja hosts closing ceremony for 'Cultural Wealth of People' project honoring Bulbul [PHOTOS]
The closing ceremony for "Cultural Wealth of the People" (Xalqın mədəni sərvəti) project, organized by the Ganja State Philharmonic Hall, has taken place, Azernews reports.
The project was dedicated to one of the founders of the national musical theater and professional vocal art, opera singer, State Prize laureate and awardee, People's Artist of the USSR Bulbul (Murtuza Mammadov, 1897-1961).
The concert program featured performances by Honored Artists Ramil Gasimov, Inara Babayeva, Ilaha Afandiyeva, Sabina Vagabzade, and soloists Sema Gamzayeva, Nigar Jafarova, Adil Akhundov, Reza Khosrovzade, Fahmin Ahmadli, and Taleh Yahyaev.
The repertoire included compositions from Uzeyir Hajibayli's opera "Koroglu," romances by Asaf Zeynalli "Without You" and "My Country," as well as pieces from Giacomo Puccini's operas "Tosca," "La Bohème," and "Edgar." The performers were accompanied by Honored Artists Ilaha Sadigzade, Zulfia Sadigova, Nushaba Isa, and Nigar Huseynzade.
Bulbul's son, the Chairman of the Culture Committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament, People's Artist Polad Bulbuloglu, expressed gratitude for the organization of the evening and to the participants for their wonderful performances.
The main goal of the "Cultural Wealth of the People" project is to promote classic examples of Azerbaijan's musical art and to engage in educational activities aimed at bringing folk music to a wider audience and contemporary youth. As part of the project, a series of events has been dedicated to prominent figures in culture and arts. Earlier, evenings were held in honor of classical national music figures such as Fikrat Amirov, Gara Garayev, Suleyman Alasgarov, Jabbar Garyagdioglu, and Seyid Shushinsky.
