National Library presents exhibition in memory of Azerbaijani People's Artist
On the occasion of Siyavush Karimi's birthday, a traditional book exhibition called "People's Artist, Professor Siyavush Karimi" was presented to users in the National Library, Azernews reports.
The exhibition displays literature in Azerbaijani and foreign languages about the life, rich, valuable scientific and pedagogical activity of People's Artist, professor Siyavush Karimi, books compiled and edited by him, foreword authored by him, and collections of notes.
The exhibition will last one week.
It is worth noting that the outstanding composer and people's Artist, Professor Siyavush Karimi was born on November 9, 1954, in Baku. In 1961-1969, he studied at secondary school number 159 in Baku. In 1969-1972, he graduated from the tar class of the Secondary Specialized Music School named after Bulbul. He was a student of master musician Ahsan Dadashov. In 1972-1977, he continued his studies at the Azerbaijan State Conservatory named after U. Hajibeyli. Starting from 1979, one of the soloist musicians in the orchestra of the State Song Theater named after Rashid Behbudov, music director of "Azkonsert", "Ashiğlar" group, "Jangi" variety-folk ensemble, the variety-symphonic orchestra of Azerbaijan Television and Radio, "Azerbaijanfilm" named after J. Jabbarli. " worked as an artistic director in the music studio named after Rafig Babayev of the film studio. During these years, he became a close friend of People's Artist Rafig Babayev, whom he worked with, and was influenced by his music.
Professor Siyavush Karimi, who has had special services in the training of national musicians in Azerbaijan for a long time, is the rector of the Azerbaijan National Conservatory, and a professor of the "Popular Music and Jazz Performance" department.
Siyavush Karimi is the author of many musical works. It is his lyrical songs that make him known to a wide audience. He is also famous as a composer and a beautiful and mysterious arranger of folk songs.
The professor contributed to the development of modern Azerbaijani theater art with the music he wrote for many theater performances. Among them, "Malikmammad", "Butterflies", "Farhad and Shirin", "Timon of Athens", "History Molla Ibrahimkhalil Chemist", "Adventure-Mirza Fatali Akhundzade" and others can be mentioned. His activity in this field began in the early 2000s. In 2003, he was awarded the "Golden Dervish" award for the music he wrote for the play "Hamlet" by the genius English playwright V. Shakespeare, which was staged on the stage of the Academic National Drama Theater, and the "Zirva" award for the play "The Alchemist" in 2013.
