An international photo competition "Olympic Spirit: Beyond Victory and Defeat" has been launched under the joint organization of Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA) and Gilavar Photo Club, Azernews reports.

The main purpose of the competition is to convey the values of clean sports and fair sports competition to the general public through photos in 2024 - the Olympic and Paralympic year.

The themes of the competition include the joy of victory, the disappointment of defeat, the memorable moments of the Games, the spirit of pure sportsmanship and the promotion of the principles of fair sport.

During the selection process, special attention will be paid to photos of Azerbaijani athletes taken by foreign photographers.

The submitted photos must be original and taken during the 2024 Summer Olympics and Paralympics.

The awards will be presented by the International Association of Art Photographers (IAAP) and Gilavar Photo Club in accordance with international standards. The awardees will be determined as a result of voting by the jury from Italy, Bulgaria and Azerbaijan.

Photos for the competition must be submitted by November 30, 2024.

The exhibition of photos submitted to the competition will be organized in December.

The Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA) was established on December 23, 2016 as a national anti-doping organisation with the mission of fighting doping in sports.

The legal background covering the agency's mission is the Law "On the fight against the use of doping substances and methods in sport," signed and, respectively, implemented by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the last quarter of 2016.

Founded in 2017, the Gilavar Photo Club aims to discover and support talented photographers.

2023 marked the fifth anniversary of the photo club that promotes photography art in the country and beyond its borders.

The club's participants are actively engaged in local and international photo contests.

Since 2017, the photo club has been a member of the International Association of Art Photographers.

In 2020, the Gilavar Photo Club became Azerbaijan's official representative at the association.
