Prior to the 19th century children were dressed like miniature adults, in similar styles and fabrics. However starting the 1800s, the rise of new ideas about childhood prompted the appearance of clothing styles specifically for children, colorful and quite distinct from adult fashions.

Today, countless clothing stores and boutiques offer the latest fashion trends for kids.

To remember the early days of the children’s fashion, Azerbaijani photographer, Emin Alizade, presented a photo shoot called "Children, Fashion, History", Trend Life reports.

The photo project aims to show the children's fashion of the 20th century in a modern way.

The shooting took place in the country's picturesque region of Guba.

"I have always been interested in realizing photo projects that are related to the history. It's like to have a time machine- you can travel any epoch. The young models showed a great interest to the project," said Emin Alizade.
