Kazan Film Festival to screen Azerbaijani films

Azerbaijani films will be shown at the 13th Kazan International Muslim Film Festival in Kazan, Tatarstan, on September 5-11.
The festival is to ensure experience exchange of the workers in the sphere of culture and arts of Russia and Muslim countries of the neighboring and far-abroad countries, display the creative achievements of the Muslim cinematographers and the representatives of the other religious affiliation, who make films popularizing human, spiritual and moral values as well as cultural traditions.
The short films program will feature "Sound" film, jointly produced by Azerbaijan and Iran.
Besides, "This is Love" film by Teymur Daimi will participate in the competition of short film documentary.
A half-hour documentary tells the story of the love couple for over 65 years. Their relationship goes on the background of the changing appearance of Baku, since the mid-20th century, with its socialist world order, ending with present days.
The movie awarded the prize of Eurasia International Film Festival in the category "Best documentary film" .
The film also was shown at such prestigious events as DO PÃO International Documentary Film Festival, Albergaria-a-Velha, Barcelona Planet Film Festival, Roma Cinema DOC, AltFF Alternative Film Festival and others.
As a film director Daimi has taken part in international film festivals and exhibitions, and has worked with the "Bravo" and "Caspian Supplies" studios. He is currently collaborating with "Narimanfilm" and "Butafilm".
In addition, Azerbaijani film critic Ulvi Mehti will be represented in jury of the festival. He will decide on selection of the best short and full featured documentaries.
The selection committee members are also honourable Russian and foreign film critics.
