“Pomegranate Garden” movie to be shown in Astana [PHOTO]

“Pomegranate Garden” movie by Azerbaijani filmmakers will be screened at the 13th Eurasia International Film Festival.
The festival will take place in Astana, Kazakhstan on July 22-28, Trend Life reported. The Azerbaijani film included into the main competition program of the festival.
European and local filmmakers have joined their efforts to produce the movie, which was shot upon the order of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
“Pomegranate Garden” features a story about an old man, who lives along with his grandson and daughter-in-law in the decrepit house amidst of the huge pomegranate garden. Sudden comeback of his wayward son has changed a gentle rhythm of their peaceful existence. Forgotten bitter memories have come back and even more, new challenges are in store for them.
The director of the film is Ilgar Najafov. Scriptwriters are Asif Rustamov, Ilgar Najafov and Roelof Jan Minneboo (The Netherlands).
Operator-director is Aykhan Salar (Germany), animation director is Rafig Nasirov, executive producer Akif Aliyev, producer Mushfig Hatamov,
The cast of film includes Qurban Ismayilov, Anar Hasanov, Samimi Farkhadov and Hasan Agayev.
EIFF is the major film festival in Central Asia bringing together multi-polar and multicultural world of the cinema.
The festival carries not only an important cultural mission, but also one of peace-making and integration, by uniting filmmakers of different countries and by promoting fruitful future cooperation.
