Nakhchivan, one of the world's most ancient settlements, will host international conference this July.
Entitled "Turkish-Islamic culture monuments of Nakhchivan: history and present-day", the conference will be held on July 7-8, Report.az reported.
The event will be held according to the Action Plan of the Knowledge Foundation under auspices of Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR).
The conference is organized by ANAS Nakhchivan Department, Nakhchivan State University, Nakhchivan University, Nakhchivan Teachers Institute and Office for Religious Affairs of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Nakhchivan, the central city of Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic had been admired by many travelers and poets of the past as one of the most beautiful and prosperous cities in the East.
Due to its numerous monuments, beautiful sunsets and striking heights, the city is still an attractive destination for tourists.
Archeological research conducted in the territory has revealed samples of material culture dating back to the 2nd and 1st millennia B.C.E.
The region abounds with historical monuments, including ancient Gamigaya, Farhad house, Ajhabi-Kahf, Yusuf ibn Kuseyr tomb, Momina Khatun tomb, Tomb of the Gulistan, Khanagah tomb, Qazanchi bridge, Nakhchivan Juma Mosque, and Qesariyya monument.
Nakhchivan enjoys clear water rivers, beautiful blue springs, and so much more. Beautiful color of springs maybe surprised you at some photos that present the natural beauty of Nakhchivan, but those who have seen them live say that the feeling is incomparable.
