CayFilm Cayman Festival to screen Azerbaijani films

The CayFilm Cayman International Film Festival, an annual multi-day event that promotes the beautiful Cayman Islands as a world-class filming destination, will screen Azerbaijani films.
The films "Steppe Man" and "Inner City" will be screened as part of the festival to be held in the Cayman Islands on June 30 - July 3, Report.az reported.
The films were made at the “Azərbaycanfilm” studio named after J.Jabbarli, with the support of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
"The Steppe Man" film is about a young steppe man who lives in remoteness from the city, closely tied to nature. His father teaches him the subtleties of life in the steppe. Soon after his father's death the young man meets a girl from a city. Their meeting becomes a new page in his life, a step to a big life unfamiliar to him before. The film's director is Shamil Aliyev.
The scriptwriter of the movie is Vidadi Gasanov, the director of photography is Rafig Guliyev, art directors are Rafig Nasirov and Ibrahim Halil Aminov, the composer is Rauf Aliyev, and producers are Mushvig Hatamov and Azer Guliyev.
The Steppe Man has already attended nearly 30 international film festivals and forums and received a number of awards.
The film was awarded "For Fairytale Reality" at DIDOR International Film Festival -2012, "For creative research" at International Telekinoforuma "Together", "Best Director" at Noida International Film Festival 2015, "Golden World Awards" at World Film Awards 2015 and others.
Besides, the film was included in the list of candidates for the American Film Academy OSCAR 2014 in the nominee "Best foreign language film".
“Inner city” is a psychological drama, directed by Ilgar Safat. The storyline is about love of a young girl to Karabakh war veteran. The lead roles are performed by Tahmina Rafaella, Firdovsi Atakishiyev, Mehriban Zeki and Elmira Shabanova.
The film was screened at many film festivals, including 7th Yashwant International Film Festival in India, 38th Cairo International Film Festival in Egypt, 47th Indian International Film Festival (Qoa), 20th Tallinn Dark Nights Film Festival in Estonia, 21th Kerala International Film Festival in India.
