Azerbaijan Open Dance, Art and Cheerleading Championship took place in the Baku Sport Palace.

The competition was co-organized by the Azerbaijan Youth Union, Azerbaijan Dance Association and Azerbaijan's Cheerleading Union, Trend Life reported.

The grand event brought together 7,154 talented dancers, who successfully performed in the festival and competition programs.

The competition program was divided into professional and debut performances.

President of Azerbaijan Dance Association Aziz Azizov said that the dancers competed in 11 kind of dances and 66 nominations.

"I am very glad that our team coped with the task. The dance teams from Georgia, Iran, Ukraine and Russia pleased us with their performances," he added.

The first day of championship featured colorful festival with participation of youth teams from Azerbaijan and foreign countries.

More than 4,500 dancers competed in bollywood, oriental, folk, ethno, dancing show, cheerleading and hip hop.

The winners were awarded medals and honorary diplomas.

The jury members included Rimma Mamedova, Ulviya Gasanova, Tahir Eynullayev, Tamilla Aliyev.
