Azerbaijan’s national dresses on show in Tashkent [PHOTO]

Azerbaijan’s national clothing, inherent to the Karabakh region, has been shown in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The fashion show was held as part of the traditional exhibition of fine arts opened in the Academy of Arts, Trend Life reported.
The event was co-organized by Azerbaijan Cultural Centre and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Tashkent.
Students of Tashkent State Institute of Arts and Design presented to the audience a collection of colorful outfits.
Uzbek models showed stunning wedding, ceremonial and other dresses of the 17th-19th centuries, clothes of Azerbaijani noblewomen from the Karabakh khanate, while mugham "Karabakh Shikastasi" sounded at the background.
A dance ensemble "Azerbaijani girls" performed a scene from the operetta "The Cloth Peddler" by composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli. During the performance, ladies wore beautiful national silk headscarfs- kelaghayi.
The Azerbaijani cultural center named after Heydar Aliyev and the Azerbaijani Embassy in Uzbekistan regularly implements projects to popularize the Azerbaijani applied art, national clothes, carpets and kitchens, including inherent to Karabakh, which is an integral part of Azerbaijan.
