In search of lost time

YARAT Contemporary Art Space invites everyone to join Reading Club on February 22.

The event entitled “In search of lost time” will be hosted by two talented young authors – a script writer Ramin Gasimov, and a poet Panah Hajiyev.

The program is titled “In search of lost time”, because it includes a selection of texts that take us back to the origin of many traditions that still seem to influence our way of thinking.

All stories were written and will be read in Azerbaijani language. The event starts at 7 pm. Admission is free.

Ramin Gasimov was born in 1992 in Baku. He received his BA degree in Law from National Aviation Academy. Ramin has been writing stories for more than 4 years. His first story "Suicide" was written at the age of 20 brought him success and was published afterwards as a book. Scrip writer tried to write a novel thrice. Despite the fact that the novels were ready structurally, he didn't complete them, as he believed that he was not ready. Afterwards he began to write essays and reviews.

Now he is a successful columnist writing for a24.az.

Panah Hajiyev was born in 1990 in Julfa. He received his BA degree from Nakhchivan State University, then he received his Master degree from Baku Slavic University. Now he is dissertant at Institute of Literature named after Nizami. In addition, Panah is engaged in literary work in his spare times. He writes stories and essays.

YARAT is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to nurturing an understanding of contemporary art in Azerbaijan and to creating a platform for Azerbaijani art, both nationally and internationally. Based in Baku, YARAT (meaning CREATE in Azerbaijani) was founded by Aida Mahmudova in 2011.

YARAT realizes its mission through an on-going program of exhibitions, education events and festivals. YARAT facilitates exchange between local and international artistic networks including foundations, galleries and museums.
