World’s top physicists have gathered in Baku for the Asia-Pacific Conference and Workshop on Quantum Information Science.
The event is co-organized by the Institute of Physics of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), ANAS Presidium, and Science Development Fund under the President of Azerbaijan.
Academic secretary of ANAS Rasim Aliguliyev, addressing the participants, highlighted the importance of the event in terms of discussing future prospects of quantum information science.
Acting academic secretary of ANAS Division on Physics, Mathematics and Technical Sciences Nazim Mammadov spoke of the history of quantum information science.
Quantum Information Science is now a well-established field of research, with interests spanning many traditional physics disciplines, including atomic and optical physics, quantum optics, many-body and low-temperature physics, condensed matter physics and solid state etc.
The Asia-Pacific Conference and Workshop on Quantum Information Science entertains submissions across the full range of subfields. It carries forward a series of conferences and workshops initiated by a pair of workshops in Singapore, in 2001 and 2003, and the first conference in Taiwan in 2004.
