The East and the West musical traditions will be jointly sounded at one of the most gorgeous music venues in Baku.
International Mugham Center will host a concert featuring a synthesis of jazz and mugham on November 5.
The concert will feature performance of khananda [singer of mugham] Gochag Askarov and French musician Pierre de Tregomain.
This unique collaboration will be accompanied by Elnur Mikayilov (kamancha), Ibrahim babayev (tar), Kamran Karimov (drums) and Nijat Aslanov (piano).
Pierre de Trégomain played with his Quartet in festivals and jazz clubs throughout France and Europe and gained a solid reputation for his stage performances and improvisation.
The French musician is visiting the Land of Fire not the first time.
The last time, Pierre had visited Baku to take mugham lessons from khananda Gochag Askarov.
The signer considers mugham as national heritage of Azerbaijan.
With the help of Gochag Askarov, Pierre learned such main mughams as with "Rast", "Bayati-Shiraz" .
Jazz and mugham are the most valuable monuments of the material and spiritual culture in Azerbaijan.
Founder of Azerbaijani jazz, Vagif Mustafazadeh managed to establish Azerbaijani jazz. He created in Jazz something native and something close to Azerbaijani soul.
Mustafazadeh established a new sound - his own kind of jazz, a fusion of jazz with a form of indigenous Azerbaijani music, Mugham.
