Works of national cartoonist to be presented at Port Bakuin Baku

Famous cartoonist Nazim Mammadov’s works will be presented in an exhibition to be held in Port Baku Mall on September 3, Trend life reported.
The exhibition, dedicated to the memory of the artist, will feature the most famous paintings of the national artist.
The event will be attended by such talented artists as Afet Bagirova, Orkhan Aslanov, Irina Eldarova, Parviz Huseynov and Irina Gundorina.
The exhibition will last till September 11.Entrance is free.
Nazim Mammadov was born in born in 1934, Baku, Azerbaijan. In 1957, he graduated from the art school named after Azim Azimzadeh.
After graduating from a special course on animated film at the Soyuzmultfilm studio in Moscow, Mammadov started to work as cartoonist at "Azerbaijanfilm" studio named after Jafar Jabbarli.
His first cartoon "the Bear and the Mouse", the first full-length Azerbaijani cartoon was filmed in 1970.
Besides, Nazim Mammadov took part in the filming of about 40 documentaries at the "Azerbaijanfilm" studio.
In 1988, he created the first cartoon-opera in Azerbaijan- "Beautiful Fatma"
Mammadov was also engaged in easel painting, graphics, and children's book illustration. His paintings are widely known not only in Azerbaijan but also abroad.
His works give the viewer a sense of the fairy tale and immerse you in the beautiful world of fantasy.
The artist died in 2004.
