The 8th International Music Festival being held in the country’s Gabala region continues to entertain music enthusiasts with beautiful sounds of national and foreign musicians.
The six day of the festival featured works of world famous composers at a chamber concert on August 4.
Peoples’ Artist Murad Adigozalzade, who is Director of Azerbaijan State Philharmonic, Nargiz Samedova, a teacher at the Nuremberg University of Music in Germany performed compositions of Charles-Camille Saint-Saëns, John Towner Williams, Niyazi, Fikret Amirov, Igor Frolov, Fritz Kreisler, Paolo Tosti, Ernesto De Curtis, Cesare Andrea Bixio and Arkady Shilkloper.
The concert also featured performance of concertmaster of Baku Music Academy Youth Chamber Orchestra Umida Abbasova on violin and winner of several international music contests Arkady Shilkloper on French horn.
Another concert of world-renown orchestra -- “Kiev Virtuosi” also delighted music fans with their incredible performance.
The concert held under the conduction of Israeli conductor Gil Shohat, the laureate of numerous international competitions, annually performing with more than 40 concerts in foreign countries, was also attended by senior teacher of the Jerusalem Music Centre and the Israel Youth Philharmonic Orchestra Nitai Zori (violin), Vice-Rector of Baku Music Academy on International PR and educational work professor Yegana Akhundov (piano), laureate of international contests Saida Tagizade (piano) and Azerbaijani honored Artist Alexei Milt (cello).
The traditional Gabala festival started on July 30 will last
until August 5, featuring many prominent musicians, art ensembles,
soloists and conductors from Azerbaijan, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine,
the U.S., Italy, France, Spain, Israel, Lithuania and Cuba.
The grandiose festival will be finalized with the concert of "Kyiv
virtuosos" orchestra.
Launched by Heydar Aliyev Foundation in 2009, Gabala International Music Festival is an annual open-air festival of classical music, as well as jazz and mugham. The festival is held on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation with the support of Culture and Tourism Ministry and Executive Power of Gabala region. Musicians’ performances take place under the open sky and in chamber concert halls of Gabala.
