Azerbaijan's first industrial area obtains residents

The first two residents have been registered in the Neftchala industrial area, the Economy and Industry Ministry reported on October 29.

The relevant certificates of registration were issued to the two business entities involved in the production of fish feed, pumps and trailers.

In the first stage in the industrial area, it is planned to create enterprise for the production of canned fish, boats and fishing equipment, equipment for irrigation systems, metal constructions, plastic doors and windows.

Currently, construction of an administrative building, four production units with a total area of 8,000 square meters and the necessary infrastructure is underway in the area. In general, it is planned to build eight production units.

Neftchala industrial area was created in February 2015. The district was established for the development of the non-oil industry by creating commercial and processing enterprises to promote small and medium entrepreneurship.

A ten-hectare big area was allocated for this purpose in Neftchala. The district will have all the needed conditions including internal and outer infrastructures.

Today, Azerbaijan is also developing two industrial parks in Baku’s suburb and in the second biggest industrial city of the country – Sumgayit.

The State Program for the Development of Industry in 2015-2020 says Azerbaijan will establish some industrial parks in Ganja and Mingachevir cities in 2015-2018.

Azerbaijan will also create favorable conditions for other countries to participate in the industrial parks.
