The State Urban Planning and Architecture Committee approved the general urban plans for Hajigabul and Neftchala cities in Azerbaijan.
The Committee commissioned the Azıx LLC Company to implement the development plans for the two cities.
The executive powers of the Hajigabul and Neftchala tentatively approved the plans in a decree in June of this year.
Neftchala contains rich oil and natural gas pools. It is located on the Kura River, on an ancient caravan route, and has a diverse array of fauna.
Neftchala is home to Persian gazelles, pelicans, and deer, as well as sturgeons, which are bred at the Kura pilot plant in the district.
There are a lot of industrial plants for sturgeon growth such as the fish plant, iodine-bromine plant, and pilot plant. The main portion of the Gizilagach Bay reserve, that is rich of flora and fauna, is located in this region as well.
Hajigabul region, with its dry, hot semi-desert climate, rests on the southeast Kura-Araz plain.
Historically, the Great Silk Way passed through the Hajigabul city on its way to the Persian Gulf.
There are lots of historical architectural monuments as Pir (sanctuary) Hussein Khanagahi (XIII-XIV centuries) in Gubali-Baloglan village, fortress walls, a XIII century caravanserai, a mausoleum from the XV century, a bridge dating back to the XVIII-XIX centuries, Gungermaz medieval defense tower in Udulu village, and a XV century caravanserai in the eastern shore of Hajigabul lake.
Meanwhile, a public hearing will be held on July 16 at the Naftalan district executive branch to discuss the city’s plan as well.
The Renesans Studio Company LLC will prepare the Naftalan general plan.
