The Azerbaijani plant engaged in the computer equipment production, KUR is planning to produce computer equipment for Acer Inc., Taiwan’s multinational hardware and electronics corporation, in Mingachevir.

KUR plant is a venture of the production association "Teleradio" under Communications and High Technologies Ministry and IT-company Sinam.

A source in the IT market reported that the production of Acer computer equipment at KUR is currently the subject of negotiations between the sides.

"The results of these negotiations will be announced before the end of January," the source said.

Leading IT-companies of Azerbaijan involved in offering products and service equipment will also get involved in the project.

The main produced equipment will be the processors and chips from the US-based multinational corporation Intel.

Earlier, it was reported that Intel Corporation, a US multinational corporation, is expected to establish production of children’s computers (Classmate PC) for schoolchildren.

KUR plant was established in 2005. It is the only manufacturing company engaged in assembly-line production of computer equipment and electronics in the South Caucasus region.

At present, the plant is producing different equipment such as antivirus, KURTEL phones, DVB-T, ADSL 2/2, modems, thermal photo printers, NComputing L300, and many others.
