BP-Azerbaijan holds career forum for Azerbaijani students

BP-Azerbaijan hosted a career forum for Azerbaijani national overseas students and graduates specializing in the oil and gas industry related disciplines.

The event is part of BP's and its co-ventures' commitment to supporting Azerbaijan's efforts in developing highly-skilled national oil and gas professionals, BP official Tamam Baytli said.

The career forum which was arranged in collaboration with the Azerbaijan-UK Alumni Association (AUKAA) attracted 120 oversea Azerbaijani students and graduates. It presented a scene for interactive discussions of career opportunities within BP and for networking with BP leadership representatives.

Leyla Novruzova, BP's vice president on human recourses said: "We see this forum as learning and networking opportunity for overseas students. They will be able to meet bp's senior representatives to discuss existing and future career development opportunities, recruitment programs and plans. They will also have a chance to learn more about our 20 years safe and reliable offshore and onshore operations in Azerbaijan and the region.

Vusal Guliyev, head of the sector for work with youth organizations under the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, spoke of state care for youth, noting that in his meetings with the country's youth, President Ilham Aliyev always expresses wish to see highly-skilled national specialists not only in the native country, but also in world's leading companies.

At his words, the country's leadership believe the efforts aimed at promoting career opportunities in Azerbaijan's world-class oil and gas industry are well in line with the government strategy to encourage young Azerbaijanis studying abroad to use their international knowledge and skills to contribute to their country's economic development.

Guliyev wished success to the participants of the career forum.
