Baku-Batumi charter flights can be opened

Charter flights en route Baku-Batumi-Baku can be performed beginning from this summer.
The news was announced by Head of the Georgian National Tourism Administration Giorgi Sigua.
"Some tour operators are going to organize such flights and are negotiating on this issue with the airlines," he told Azerbaijani journalists.
Earlier, Azerbaijan Airlines,AZAL, performed flights en route Baku-Batumi-Baku in summer, but the flights were stopped several years ago.
Sigua noted that currently, 90 percent of Azerbaijani tourists cross the Georgian border by car.
Azerbaijani tourists reach Batumi through Tbilisi. There is fast train from Tbilisi to Batumi twice a day. Travel time is 4.5 hours. Besides, Georgian Airways operates flights Tbilisi-Batumi everyday. Ticket price is 50 euro.
Sigua further said over one million of Azerbaijani tourists visited Georgia in 2013.
"Azerbaijani is very important tourist market for Georgia," he concluded.
