Azerbaijan facilitates export-import operations

A high-ranking official says based on new measures adopted by the government Azerbaijani entrepreneurs will need only two documents for export and import operations.
Addressing the reporters, Economy and Industry Minister Shahin Mustafayev said administrative procedures related to the principle of "one window", used during inspection of cargo and vehicles passing through the border, have been simplified once again according to the new Customs Code.
President Aliyev signed a decree "On additional measures for the development of entrepreneurship" on March 3, according to which the Cabinet of Ministers was entrusted to prepare proposals for changes in legislation to reduce the number of documents, time and cost required in import-export operations.
Shahin Mustafayev said reforms in this area will continue in accordance with the presidential decree.
"So, only transport documents and the declaration itself will be required for customs control during import-export operations after changes made to a number of legal acts," the minister said. "Thus, the number of documents required for imports (11) and for export (8) will be reduced to only 2. Overall, the list of necessary documents will be reduced from 19 to four."
