Azerbaijan intends to study the experience of South Korea for introduction of e-agriculture system and is ready to work with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in this field, Azerbaijani Agriculture Minister Ismet Abasov said on September 17 at a meeting with head of KOICA Baku office Kim Eun Suk.

The sides discussed the possible spheres of cooperation in the field of agriculture, including training of skilled personnel in the agrarian industry.

Furthermore, the possibilities of providing grants and technical assistance by KOICA for the projects in Azerbaijan were explored.

The relations between Azerbaijan and South Korea cover many areas, in particular, politics, economics, culture and other fields.

The two countries have signed about 40 agreements. In the past seven years the trade turnover between the two countries has increased 16-fold to hit $650 million.

In June 2013, Azerbaijan and South Korea signed an agreement on economic cooperation.

Korea exports to Azerbaijan mainly automobile and plastic and electronic products while the South Caucasus republic exports oil, aluminum and copper products to Korea.

There is a great potential for cooperation in the tourism sector as well.
