Azersun Holding to build logistics center in Kazakhstan

Azerbaijan's Azersun Holding will build logistics center in the Mangistau region of Kazakhstan.

A memorandum of understanding on the project was signed among Azersun Holding, Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) and JSC Special Economic Zone "Seaport Aktau" in Baku on August 14.

From the Azerbaijani side, the document was undersigned by Deputy Director General of Azersun Holding Nizami Guliyev, AZPROMO Vice President Vidadi Guliyev and from the Kazakhstan side by Deputy Head of the Seaport Aktau Askar Aityarov.

Addressing the event, Aityarov said that the Kazakh side is glad to start cooperation with Azerbaijani companies.

"Azersun Holding became the first Azerbaijani company, which will start work in our economic zone," Aityarov said. "During the 10 years of its operation, already 25 major companies from around the world began to operate here. Construction of a new production and logistics center, which Azersun Holding will start, will allow organizing supplies of various Azerbaijani products to the local market, including food products, which are very important for the region."

Vidadi Guliyev, in turn, said that the construction of a new logistics center will make an important contribution to the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

"Today, about 30 companies with the Azerbaijani capital operates in Kazakhstan. Implementation of the project on the construction of a new logistics center will contribute to the development of non-oil sector of the economy of both countries. AZPROMO is ready to support this and similar projects in the future," he said.
