Iran to benefit from Azerbaijan's experience in tax system’s automation
Iran intends to benefit from the experience of Azerbaijan in the field of automation of the tax system, public services, the VAT administration, the head of the National Tax Administration of Iran, Ali Askeri, said at a meeting with the Minister of Taxes of Azerbaijan Fazil Mammadov in Baku on on May 14, the ministry reported.
According to Askeri, Iran and Azerbaijan have strong collaborative links in all spheres. Askeri also mentioned that Azerbaijan possesses interesting experience in diversification of the economy, the use of information and communication technologies, creation of technoparks and noted the great potential for cooperation in this field.
Mammadov said the priorities for the near future are the use of modern information technologies, introduction of e-audit, signing of partnership agreements and so forth.
"There are many similarities between the strategic objectives of the tax authorities of the two countries. Along with the use of experience of developed western countries, the Ministry of Taxes of Azerbaijan also resorts to the positive experience of the eastern countries. Thus, it is important to strengthen bilateral and multilateral relations," the minister said.
The delegation headed by Askeri is on a visit to Baku from May 13.
