Trading House of two European cities opens in Baku

The opening ceremony of the Trading House of two European cities - Lommel (Belgium) and Bergeijk (Netherlands) took place in Baku on Wednesday.
The event was attended by mayor of Lommel Peter Vanvelthoven and mayor of Bergeijk and representative of Queen Beatrix of Netherlands Driek Van De Vondervoort, as well as Azerbaijan's cultural and public figures.
Chairman of Bresser Eurasia BV Leon Sweegers was appointed as the head of the Trading House.
"By opening the Trading House, we aim to develop more close relations between the countries in the cultural and economic spheres, create mutually beneficial partnership relations as well as to attract tourists from Belgium and Netherlands to Azerbaijan," Sweegers said.
Ambassador of the Netherlands to Azerbaijan Aryen Uyterlinde and Chairman of Azerbaijan Union of Architects Elbay Gasimzade made speeches and wished successes to the House.
Lommel is one of the developed cities of Belgium and known as energy city. The city also has an ancient history. It is known for its many archeological sites and its very fine, white sand.
Bergeijk is one of the leading cities in the world for technologic issues. Bergeijk is also known as a cultural centre of the country. Many companies acting there support development of museums and art. Bergeijk is traditionally an agricultural area, however tourism and recreation are steadily gaining importance. Among the facilities in the municipality of Bergeijk is a bungalow park in the village Westerhoven.
