Azeri inflation 5.7 pct in 2010: govt
BAKU – Inflation in Azerbaijan increased 5.7 percent in 2010, according to the State Statistics Committee.
Prices for food rose 7.2 pct, while those for other goods 2.3 pct, and fees on services 4.3 pct.
The International Monetary Fund had predicted last year’s inflation at 5.5 pct, while the Asian Development Bank at 5 pct. This year, the two financial institutions are predicting the figures at 6 pct and 4 pct respectively, while the Azerbaijani government expects inflation to be 5 pct.
