Botter told a press conference Thursday that Bakcell has increased its revenues 20 percent in comparison with 2009, and continues succesfully making investments.

Over 2,000 Bakcell base stations are operating in Azerbaijan. In the past two years, the company has created the most up-to-date cellular communication network across the country and set up over 1,200 new base stations.

Currently, the company’s services cover 80 percent of Azerbaijan’s territory and 97.8 percent of the country’s population.

According to Botter, Bakcell’s customer service has significantly improved this year as well. The company runs over 60 customer care centers throughout Azerbaijan, including 21 in the capital Baku and over 40 in Azerbaijani regions.

As for future plans, Botter said the number of Bakcell subscribers is to be brought to 2.1 million by the end of 2010.
