The telecommunications cable connecting Sweden and Finland has broken once again, Azernews reports.

The disruption was detected in Finland during the night of December 3. According to the report, the affected cable is part of the internet infrastructure linking the two countries.

This new incident follows the sudden disruption of two other critical cables—CS East-West, which connects Lithuania and Sweden, and C-Lion 1, linking Finland with Germany—on November 17 and 18. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has suggested that the damages to these cables were "intentional."

The repeated damage to undersea cables has raised concerns about the vulnerability of critical infrastructure, particularly as tensions grow in geopolitical relations. Experts are calling for closer monitoring of these vital connections, which are crucial for global communication, finance, and security.

While it’s unclear who is responsible for the damages, the situation highlights growing concerns over the protection of digital infrastructure, especially in regions with heightened political and military tensions. In light of these incidents, cybersecurity experts are urging governments and private companies to enhance protective measures to safeguard communication networks from potential sabotage.
