Azerbaijan's Economy Ministry to organize series of events and meetings during COP29
On November 13, the Ministry of Economy will organize a High-Level Session with the World Economic Forum on the topic "The Power of Collaboration: Uniting Forces for Net Zero," Azernews reports.
The event will take place in Baku from today until November 22, as part of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).
On November 14, the Ministry of Economy, in collaboration with the World Trade Organization (WTO), will present the Baku Initiative for Climate Finance, Investment, and Trade (BICFIT) as part of the Finance, Investment, and Trade Day (Climate FIT Day).
A number of events will be organized under the Business, Investment, and Philanthropy Climate Platform, where discussions on climate finance and strategic partnerships will take place.
As part of COP29, an event on "Strengthening a Sustainable Future: Driving Green Growth through Finance" will be held, and the Climate Finance Action Fund (CFAF) will be presented.
Ministerial meetings on the CAREC Partnership for Climate, Innovation, and Trade, the Turkic States Organization's Partnership on Climate, Innovation, Green Economy, and Trade, and the SPECA Climate and Innovation Dialogue will also take place.
On November 15, as part of the Energy, Peace, Aid, and Recovery Day, the Ministry of Economy will present the "Green Growth" portal developed in collaboration with Harvard University's Growth Lab International Development Center. Other events will focus on topics such as "Carbon Pricing: Current Challenges and New Strategies," "Developing Sustainable Finance and Climate Resilience Strategies through Public-Private Partnership Projects," and "The Role of the Private Sector in Solving Climate Change."
On November 16, during the Science, Technology, and Innovation – Digitalization Day, a conference titled "The Role of SMEs in the Green Economy" will be held, along with discussions on "The Impact of Artificial Intelligence: The New Era of Digital Economy Management through Technological Forecasting" and "The Transformative Power of Artificial Intelligence: Reducing Environmental Impacts and Achieving Sustainable Development."
On November 20, during the Urbanization, Transport, and Tourism Day, a Roundtable with the leaders of the Green Cities of the EBRD from the SPECA region is planned, as well as a briefing on the SPECA Multilateral Trust Fund.
During COP29, the Ministry of Economy and its affiliated institutions are expected to sign agreements with the Islamic Development Bank, the International Trade Centre, and several foreign companies.
In addition, the Ministry of Economy will hold a series of meetings with representatives of international organizations and officials from other countries.
