Preparatory work for UN's COP29 venue in Azerbaijan almost complete, Official says
The area to be used by the UN is fully prepared. Ninety-two percent of the preparatory work has been completed, as the country brought the materials to the pavilions itself.
Azer Guliyev, director of the COP29 Operating Company's Venue Construction Department, informed reporters, Azernews reports.
He noted that all work will be completed before the event.
"Most of the materials used in the construction of the premises will be reused. The area of temporary structures is 112,000 square meters, and the total area to be used by the UN is 150,000 square meters," he added.
It should be noted that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) will be held in Azerbaijan in a few days. This decision was made at the COP28 plenary session in Dubai on December 11 last year.
