Azerbaijan's Central Bank to host key event on climate finance at COP29
On November 14, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) will host a key event titled "Global Financial System: Expanding Financing for Climate Action" as part of COP29's Finance, Investment, and Trade Day, Azernews reports.
This gathering aims to unite leaders from both public and private sectors, including Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) and investors, to drive climate finance initiatives and resource mobilization needed to meet the Paris Agreement goals for a green transition.
The event will feature two primary panel discussions with executives from global financial institutions sharing insights on:
"Climate Finance: Turning Climate Ambition into Tangible Action" – Focusing on strategies to increase climate financing in developing nations, this panel will address how regulatory frameworks and financial innovations can help translate climate goals into concrete outcomes.
"Scaling Up Climate Finance through Global Financial Interoperability" – Exploring ways to align regulatory practices, this session will emphasize enhanced coordination across financial systems to foster global climate finance interoperability.
Azerbaijani banks' commitments towards green finance and accelerating the nation's green transition will also be highlighted.
This event, accessible only to those with Blue Zone accreditation, will take place at the Baku Olympic Stadium's Blue Zone, Presidential Pavilion, SE5/Nasimi, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM (GMT+4). Further details are available on the CBA's official website.
