Uzbekistan participates in COP29
Uzbekistan will participate in the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), Azernews reports, citing Uzbekistan's Energy Ministry.
It is reported that Uzbekistan is actively preparing for COP29.
It should be noted that COP29 will be held in Azerbaijan in November this year. The decision to hold the conference there was made at the COP28 plenary session in Dubai on December 11 of last year. Baku, which will become the center of attention, is expected to receive about 70,000 to 80,000 foreign guests.
The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change is an agreement signed at the June 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro to prevent dangerous human interference with the climate system. The abbreviation "COP" stands for "Conference of the Parties," the highest legislative body that oversees the implementation of the Framework Convention on Climate Change.
