Special visa registration for COP29 underway
The registration process for special entry visas for COP29 is now active, as announced by Ismayil Rasulzadeh, head of the ASAN Visa department at Azerbaijan’s State Agency for Citizen Service and Social Innovation (VXSIDA), Azernews reports.
Speaking at a media briefing at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, Rasulzadeh highlighted that registered participants are to use the official e-visa portal to apply for the “COP29 Special Visa.” Once submitted, the application is expected to be processed within three working days.
Rasulzadeh explained that the ASAN Visa portal, which has been in preparation since January, integrates with COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the UNFCCC.
Considering the large international attendance expected—representatives from nearly 200 countries—the portal supports multiple languages, including English, German, French, Spanish, Hebrew, Italian, Russian, Arabic, Persian, Chinese, and Korean.
