Azerbaijani Economy Minister embarks on visit to Italy
Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov is currently visiting Italy, Azernews reports.
The ministry's delegation, led by him, met with Giulio Terzi, a senator of the Italian Parliament. During the meeting, they highlighted the successful partnership between Azerbaijan and Italy across various sectors including trade, energy, transport, and other areas.
Discussions centered around the priorities of economic cooperation and the importance of launching new initiatives. Minister Jabbarov also met with Andrea Di Giuseppe, Chairman of the Foreign Trade Committee of the Italian Parliament, underscoring the significant potential for trade partnership. They explored opportunities for enhancing relations between businesses and increasing mutual investments. Italian companies were informed about the favorable investment environment in Azerbaijan, including concessions in the Alat Free Trade Zone, industrial zones, and territories liberated from occupation, which offer promising business prospects.
Additionally, Minister Jabbarov held talks with Francesco Rocca, President of Italy's Lazio region, focusing on mutual economic interests and prospects for joint activities within Azerbaijan-Italy partnerships, particularly in the private sector.
The meetings included discussions with representatives of Italian business entities, where ideas were exchanged on forging new partnerships in industries such as energy (including "green" energy), transport logistics, agriculture, and more. Presentations showcasing business and investment opportunities in both Azerbaijan and the Lazio region were also featured during the sessions.
