Azerbaijan discloses expenses of state budget
In the months of January-June of the current year, financing for the performance of the main state duties, including salaries, allowances, pensions, financing of obligations under the state debt, and other necessary expenses, was provided in full and on time from the state budget to the state treasury bodies of organizations that receive financial assistance from the budget or other means, based on the cost orders they submitted, Azernews reports.
During the first six months of the current year, state budget expenditures totaled 16 billion 52.1 million manats, which is 2 billion 297.8 million manats (16.7 percent) more than the approved forecast. The expenditures implemented during this period constitute 43.7 percent of the state budget expenses for the current year, marking a 5.3 percentage point increase compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
From January to June of this year, 9 billion 833.8 million manats, or 61.3 percent of the state budget expenses, were allocated to current expenses, which is 115 million manats (1.2 percent) more than in the same period of 2023. Additionally, 4 billion 948 million manats, or 30.8 percent, were allocated for capital expenditures, showing an increase of 1034.3 million manats (26.4 percent) compared to the same period of 2023. Furthermore, 1 billion 270.3 million manats, or 7.9 percent, were directed towards public debt service expenses, representing an increase of 839.5 million manats (2.9 times more) compared to the same period in 2023.
In January-June, according to the functional classification, the state budget allocated 2 billion 239.1 million manats for education expenses, achieving 131.5 percent implementation; 3 billion 47.6 million manats for defense and national security expenses, achieving 126.9 percent implementation; 2 billion 91.5 million manats for social protection and social security expenses, achieving 123.1 percent implementation; 491 million manats for agricultural expenses, achieving 119 percent implementation; 803 million manats for health care expenses, achieving 114.7 percent implementation; 1 billion 161 million manats for judicial power, law enforcement, and prosecutorial expenses, achieving interest implementation; 2 billion 428.4 million manats for total public services expenses, achieving 134.6 percent implementation; 2 billion 904.8 million manats for economic activity expenses, achieving 99.7 percent implementation; 199.8 million manats for culture, art, information, expenses for physical education, youth policy, and other similar activities, achieving 92.9 percent implementation; 128.2 million manats for environmental protection expenses, achieving 90.9 percent implementation; and 86.450 million manats for expenses for services not included in the main departments, achieving 4 percent implementation. Housing and utility expenses amounted to 107.7 million manats, achieving 78.4 percent implementation.
In the first six months of this year, 51.1 percent or 1 billion 953.5 million manats of the planned annual funds of 3 billion 825 million manats were utilized to reconstruct and restore the territories freed from occupation, based on the cash order documents submitted by customer organizations for relevant projects.
During the same period, 42.9 percent or 1 billion 64.9 million manats were allocated in the state budget based on cash order documents submitted by customer organizations for relevant projects, marking a 306.2 million manats (40.4 percent) increase compared to the corresponding period.
