Azerbaijan seeks to achieve noticeable improvements in agriculture by implementing reforms in this sphere as well as cooperating with world’s most dominant agricultural centers.

Cooperation in agriculture field is a priority in the relations between France and Azerbaijan in the non-oil sector.

Development of agriculture, food safety and provision of high quality food products to the population are the priority areas in both countries.

Currently, Azerbaijan and France cooperate in animal husbandry, artificial insemination, wine-growing and other spheres. France shares its experience with Azerbaijan in agricultural sector, in particular for the modernization of animal health and epidemiological service.

The expansion of agricultural cooperation was discussed at the meeting between the representatives of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture and a delegation of France's agrarian companies led by Rachel Levi, President of ADEPTA, association of French companies specializing in the manufacturing of equipment and building of production units for the agro-industrial industry.

Namig Shalbuzov, Deputy Director of the Center for Agrarian Research, Bahlul Salmanov, Sectoral Director of Agrarian Services Agency, and Leyla Mammadova, Director of State Agro Trade Company, made presentations at the meeting.

The speakers made presentations on the activities of the organizations they represent, the works done and the tasks ahead, and answered the guests' questions.

The sides discussed the trade relations between Azerbaijan and France, the prospects of cooperation in the agrarian sphere, and the importance of holding such meetings to increase the volume of agricultural products exported from Azerbaijan to France.

Later, French representatives visited the sales center operating within the State Agro Trade Company's "From Village to City" project and got acquainted with the conditions created there.

Tasting of products of local farmers and food producers was also organized for the guests.

It’s noteworthy that Azerbaijan intends to expand the green market network branded as "From Village to City" throughout the country to ensure promotion and sale of goods of local farmers and food producers.

The main task is to encourage consumers to buy products from domestic manufacturers and support their activities through green markets.
