How many farmers registered in e-agriculture information system?
By Mirsaid Ibrahimzade
The e-agriculture information system is a single system of Azerbaijan’s Agriculture Ministry. Its main principles are proximity to farmers, transparent and effective management, as well as introduction of innovations.
The educational work on the principles of the e-agricultural information system has been launched in the country’s Shamkir region.
The State Center for Agrarian Development conducted a briefing for volunteers who will provide information and consulting services to farmers.
Within the framework of the briefing, the ministry officials explained the principles of the system, including the sequence of information input into it. During the week, such services will be provided in the villages of the region.
Vugar Huseynov, head of the Public Relations Department of the Agriculture Ministry, said that farmers themselves can use the www.eagro.az website, create their personal account and enter their data into the system.
“We encourage our farmers to take an active part in this process. The necessary information regarding registration can be obtained at the State Center for Agrarian Development, via special windows in the ASAN Service offices, or by calling the call center of the Agriculture Ministry, 1652. Our staff and volunteers will explain all details to them,” Huseynov said.
It is noteworthy that 181,169 farmers have already registered in the system as of May 10. In majority of regions, the registration rate exceeds 40 percent. The ministry stressed that in the coming weeks, it is also planned to conduct appropriate instructive, informational and consulting work in other parts of Azerbaijan.
The development of agriculture is constantly in the spotlight of the Azerbaijani government. The competitiveness of local agricultural products is growing and export opportunities are expanding. In most areas of the agricultural sector, production increases with the direct and indirect support of the state.
Moreover, the country has enough potential and capabilities to use extensive and intensive ways of development to achieve goals which have been set in the agriculture sector.
