These include a memorandum of intent to jointly build an oil pipeline stretching from Baku to the Black Sea; a memo on joint use of SOCAR`s oil and gas infrastructure during the development of the Central Asian state`s energy fields; and an agreement on interaction in developing a feasibility study for the trans-Caspian gas pipeline project.
Two other agreements signed by Baku and Astana cover cooperation in agriculture and veterinary services.
The finance ministers of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan signed an agreement on clearing Azerbaijan`s debt that arose from bilateral trade and economic relations in 1992 and 1993.
Also signed were a declaration creating sister cities in Sumgayit, Azerbaijan and Aktau, Kazakhstan, as well as a document on visa-free travel of citizens of both countries.
Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Nursultan Nazarbayev held a meeting prior to the signing.
Aliyev said Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are linked by very firm historical bonds, and bilateral relations are developing successfully. Joint projects are being implemented and there are good prospects for future relationship.
Nazarbayev said Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan relations are at a high level and ``the dynamics of the meetings with you proves that.``
``We have come here with a large delegation comprising the heads of ministries and agencies in order to, primarily, exchange experiences of our countries on anti-crisis efforts and to solve unresolved issues,`` he said.
Nazarbayev added that Azerbaijan has turned into an undisputed leader in the region.
