Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin will visit Azerbaijan in April.
“The Russia-Azerbaijan trade and economic relations are actively developing,” Oreshkin said in an interview with the Moscow-Baku portal.
"To date, we have created a special group that promotes strengthening of relations with Azerbaijan in this direction," he said. “In a message to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about the importance of export development, development of foreign relations. Of course, the relations with Azerbaijan are very important for us.”
Oreshkin stressed that Russia and Azerbaijan have an active agenda, a lot of projects.
"We will not talk about them yet,” he said. “Let’s wait for my visit to Baku, where official negotiations with representatives of the Azerbaijani government will be held. I think that we will have more joint projects that will be developing for the benefit of both Russia and Azerbaijan."
In late January 2017, a Russian delegation led by Oreshkin paid a working visit to Baku.
During the visit, an expanded meeting of the Russian-Azerbaijani and Azerbaijani-Russian business councils was held and a representative office of the Russian Export Center opened in Azerbaijan.
Following the meeting of business councils, memorandums of trust between Russian and Azerbaijani companies were signed.
