Over 70 IT projects claim for state financing

The State Fund for Development of Information Technologies has defined a list of IT projects that claim to receive grants.
The evaluation of projects was carried out in two stages (primary and complex examination) and in total took 35 working days, the Fund reported on August 21.
The maximum amount of a grant to support IT projects can reach 300,000 manats ($176,300) [for a period of 36 months]. Small grants are envisaged in the amount of 10,000-100,000 manats ($5,800-$58,700), medium-100,000-200,000 manats ($58,700-$117,500), and large ones-200,000-300,000 manats ($117,500-$176,300).
The number of projects participating in the grant competition of the State Fund was 172, of which 150 passed the initial examination. As a result, 71 projects were selected among the ones that passed a comprehensive examination.
The final decision on the grant financing of the selected projects will be made in the near future at the level of the supervisory board of the Fund.
The State Fund for Development of Information Technologies was established by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 15 March 2012 and operates under the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The body stimulates functions in the field of information and communication technologies, the innovations in this field, as well as provides financial support for the expansion of operative scientific researches.
