Transport sector unaffected by global crisis
The global economic crisis has not affected projects
currently underway in the transport sector of Azerbaijan, Minister
of Transport Ziya Mammadov said.
Mammadov told reporters that all outstanding projects were continuing as planned. Further, Mammadov said there is no problem with the implementation of projects launched last year and work in this area continues.
"Construction of incomplete bridges and overpasses is underway. As you know, construction operations are being carried out using funding from foreign loans. If the crisis persists in these [lending] countries, it will not affect the projects in Azerbaijan, since the loans had been borrowed prior to the crisis," the minister said.
