Azerbaijan invites UAE investors to work in its industrial parks

Entrepreneurs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) can use conditions created in Azerbaijan’s industrial parks, said Azerbaijani Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev.

Mustafayev made the remarks during his meeting with Majid Saif Al Ghurair, chairman of the Board of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Azerbaijani Economy Ministry said in a message Nov. 19.

There is also great potential for the creation of new processing enterprises with participation of investors from the UAE, noted the Azerbaijani minister.

Trade turnover between the UAE and Azerbaijan increased by 24 percent in January-September 2016, as compared to the same period of 2015, said Mustafayev adding that the two countries have great potential for expansion of ties in the spheres of agriculture, processing, tourism, transportation and petrochemicals.

The minister added that the completion of the first phase of the Baku International Sea Trade Port’s construction and the development of the North-South International Transport Corridor create big opportunities to increase the volume of freight traffic from the UAE.

He recalled that an export mission of Azerbaijani entrepreneurs, operating in the spheres of production of honey, meat and dairy products, fruit juices, mineral water, as well as fruit and vegetables cultivation, will visit Dubai in late November. Moreover, Azerbaijani entrepreneurs operating in the food industry take part in the exhibition in Dubai from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1.
