Azerbaijan names squad for Chess Olympiad

Azerbaijan has named its squad for the upcoming 42nd World Chess Olympiad to be taken place in the capital city Baku on September 1-14.
Three male and three female teams will represent Azerbaijan in the event.
First male team will consist of Shahriyar Mammadyarov, Teymur Rajabov, Rauf Mammadov, Eltaj Safarli and Arkadiy Naydich. The second male team will include Vasif Durarbayli, Namig Guliyev, Gadir Huseynov, Nijat Abbasov and Ulvi Bajarani. The third female team will comprise Nail Bashirli, Mahammad Muradli, Vugar Asadli, Parviz Gasimov and Abdulla Gadimbayli.
The first team comprised of female chess players is Zeynab Mammadyarova, Gunay Mammadzade, Aydan Hojjatova, Gulnar Mammadova and Narmin Kazimova. The second female team includes Turkan Mammadyarova, Nargiz Umudova, Khayala Abdulla, Ulviyya Fataliyeva and Narmin Khalafova. The third team includes Narmin Mammadova, Khanim Balajayeva, Govhar Beydullayeva, Ayan Allahverdiyeva and Aynur Katanova.
With 2,000 chess masters from 180 counties, FIDE’s biennial chess tournament, will gather teams from all over the world to compete for the best title.
The opening ceremony of the Olympiad will be held in the National Gymnastics Arena, while charming Crystal Hall, once hosting Eurovision Song Contest in 2012, will host the games.
