UK athletes get ready to compete in Baku 2015
Great Britain and Ireland’s athletes get ready to compete in the
First European Games to be held in Baku on June 12-28.
“The curtain will raise on the 2015 European Games in Baku at the
opening ceremony on Friday 12th June. The inaugural event will be
Azerbaijan's first ever major multi-sport event as 50 nations
compete across 20 sports over 17 days of action from 12-28 June,”

The article said that the GB team will be competing in 13 sports at
Baku 2015, with four disciplines of gymnastics represented;
artistic, trampoline, acrobatic and aerobic.
Selected to represent GB as one of three men's artistic gymnasts is
Team Scotland Glasgow 2014 silver medalist Frank Baines. Joined by
Nile Wilson and Brinn Bevan, Baines' competition will get underway
on Sunday 14th June at the purpose built National Gymnastics
Academy.
Irish team will be represented in European Games by a total of 63
athletes from 14 sports. Of that team, 27 female athletes will
compete representing 12 different sports with swimming having the
biggest contingent, according to the article published on

Baku 2015 is the first-ever European Games, an exciting and
innovative multi-sport event for the continent which will take
place on June 12-28, 2015.
There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports
and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across
Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of
competition.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC)
in December 2012.
