New Zealand’s team coach talks conditions created for gymnasts in Baku
By Trend
New Zealand has not created such good conditions for gymnasts as Azerbaijan, coach of New Zealand’s rhythmic gymnastics team Erica Thorby told reporters in Baku.
“The team arrived in Baku to prepare for the upcoming competitions,” she said.
"We arrived in Baku for training,” Thorby said. “As you know, today we compete with the Australian national team as Australia pays more attention to rhythmic gymnastics than New Zealand."
The coach added that perfect conditions for gymnasts have been created in Baku’s National Gymnastics Arena.
“We chose Baku because some New Zealand’s athletes already visited it and appreciated the conditions created in Baku’s National Gymnastics Arena,” Thorby said.
“Rhythmic gymnastics is not very popular in New Zealand,” she said. “We do not have such conditions for training as Baku. Sometimes we even train on the floor because we do not have enough rugs.”
