Nakhchivan to host Paralympic Festival

Nakhchivan will host Paralympics Festival dedicated the 93rd anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev and the 20th anniversary of the country's National Paralympics Committee on May 12-13, Trend reports.
The festival will be attended by approximately 60 para-athletes, who will participate in the wheelchair dance sport competition, athletics competitions, goal ball and others.
The competition will also be attended by para-athletes from Iran.
As part of the festival, the Paralympics Federation of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic jointly with the Youth and Sports Ministry of the republic will organize an excursion to the ancient sites and attractions of the region.
The National Paralympics Committee of Azerbaijan was established in 1996.
Over the past few years, the National paralympic team has made great achievements. Only in 2015, the Paralympic athletes have won 79 medals – 32 gold, 28 silver and 19 bronze.
