Pride of national gymnasts at Open Joint Championship

The Open Joint Azerbaijan Championships in Gymnastics continues
to delight the fans of gymnastics in Baku.
Some 133 gymnasts from 22 countries are competing for medals both
in the all-around and the individual competitions in the test
championship running at the National Gymnastics Arena of Baku on
the eve of the European Games.
On the second day of the competition, the second Azerbaijani team
won bronze medals in rhythmic gymnastics in the group all-around
competition.
Gymnasts representing the team Azerbaijan-2, scored 30.150 points, Trend reports.
The team of Russia won the gold having scored 35.266 points, the silver medals went to France with 31.183 points. The first team of Azerbaijan took the fourth place with 30.149 points.
Azerbaijani gymnast Marina Durunda took the silver medal in the
all-around in rhythmic gymnastics, gaining 70,449 points based on
the results of all four programs.
Another gymnast Gulsum Sharifzada, gaining 68, 365 points followed
Marina.
In women’s group competitions in acrobatics the national team including Narmin Ramazanova, Aynur Huseynova and Lala Huseynova gained the gold medal with 26,880 points, leaving behind the team from Germany.
Azerbaijani gymnasts Ulyana Dyakova and Anatoliy Leonov, who performed together in the mixed pair competitions in acrobatics, took the third place in the final on the results of combined exercises.
Dyakova and Leonov scored 24.652 points. The representatives of Bulgaria won the gold, having scored 26.193 points. A couple from Germany took the second place, having scored 26.016 points.
The championship will wrap up with solemn ceremony on March 6.
