Uzbek budget for 2015 executed with 0.1% surplus of GDP

The state budget revenues of Uzbekistan on the results of 2015 amounted to over 36 trillion soums (UZS), expenses – over 36 trillion soums, state budget surplus - 202.9 billion soums, according to a message on the website of the Uzbek finance ministry.

The official exchange rate for March 9 is 2,856.64 UZS/$1.

The GDP of Uzbekistan on the results of 2015 increased by eight percent and amounted to 171.369 trillion soums, according to the state statistics committee of the republic.

Revenues of the state budget of Uzbekistan in 2015 amounted to 21.3 percent of GDP, expenses - 21.2 percent of GDP, budget surplus - 0.1 percent of GDP.

The main factors for the increase of budget revenues given the reduction of the tax burden are expansion of the tax base and increase of tax collection, according to the Uzbek ministry of finance.

Revenues from direct taxes in the total volume of revenue part of the budget amounted to 8.799 trillion soums (2.9 percent more than the amount of direct income proceedings approved by the Uzbek parliament), from indirect tax - 19.193 trillion soums (0.4 percent), revenues on resource payments and property tax accounted for 4.816 trillion soums (a 16.1 percent decline), other revenues increased by 65.6 percent to 3.684 trillion soums.

The state budget of Uzbekistan for 2016 was approved with a deficit of one percent of GDP, or 2.2 trillion soums. It is planned to ensure revenue part of the budget in the amount of 18.4 percent of GDP, or 40.5 trillion soums, expenditure part - 19.4 percent of GDP, or 42.7 trillion soums.

Parameters of the state budget of Uzbekistan have been approved given the planned GDP growth of 7.8 percent in 2016 compared to 2015, as well as 8.2 percent growth of industrial production, 6.1 percent growth of agricultural production, a 9.6 percent increase of the capital investments’ volume.
