Kyrgyzstan and China will sign an agreement on the construction of an alternative road from the south to the north in the near future, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said at the briefing after a meeting with his Kyrgyz counterpart on July 15.

According to Wang Yi, Kyrgyzstan will also be assisted in the reconstruction of the Bishkek TPP. Wang Yi noted that China pursues a policy of developing good relations with neighboring countries and is set to strengthen relations with Kyrgyzstan.

"We are ready to continue to support Kyrgyzstan. Moreover, we do not put any additional conditions. Providing assistance and support to Kyrgyzstan, we proceed from the needs and desires of this country," Chinese Foreign Minister said.

Wang Yi recalled that the Datka-South substation was built and launched in the Kyrgyz Jalalabad region with the support of China. In the future, China will build the Datka-Kemin transmission line from the south to the north of the country.

The minister said Kyrgyzstan has a strategic and geopolitical position in Central Asia and the country has huge potential and broad prospects in its development.

"We aim to achieve internal stability, what meets the interests of both countries," Wang Yi said.

Wang Yi also said the upcoming official visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping will give impetus to the development of relations between China and Kyrgyzstan.
